ALEXANDER P. GRIKITIS
PRESIDENT & MANAGING DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Alexander P. Grikitis is the President and Managing Director of Operations for Oban Energies, LLC (“Oban”). Oban is developing and building an oil and gas storage and refinery facility in the Bahamas.
Alexander is the Managing Member of GBP Holdings LLC (Nevis) (“GBP”), a consultancy firm specializing in infrastructure development, GREEN energy projects, petro-chemical refining, pipelines, and storage
Alexander is a graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design with a B.F.A. in Historic Preservation.
SENIOR ADVISORY DIRECTOR
George Matelich brings a wealth of experience to Oban and will play a key role in advising and assisting in the implementation of Oban’s overall business strategy. Mr. Matelich is a Senior Advisory Partner and Managing Director at Kelso and Company, which he joined in 1985. He spent the preceding two years in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance departments at Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb.
Mr. Matelich is currently a director of EACOM Timber, Hunt Marcellus and Venari Resources. He has served as a director on the boards of many Kelso portfolio companies, including Americold, Charter Communications, The CVR Energy Companies, Fairpoint Communications, Federal-Hoffman, Global Geophysical, Harris Specialty Chemicals, King Broadcasting, Masland Industries, Optigas, Shelter Bay Energy and Waste Services. He has served as lead director of two public companies in which Kelso had investments as well.
He earned an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1982 and received a B.A. in Business Administration, summa cum laude, from the University of Puget Sound in 1978. He was a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Certificate in Management Accounting. He is Chairman of the American Prairie Reserve, where he has been a director since 2008. Mr. Matelich is also a director of Evergreen Capital Trust, Insomnia Cookies and Survey.com. He served on the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council for six years, from 2010, and he was treasurer of the University of Puget Sound Board of Trustees, on which he served from 1989 for 23 years.
JAN VAN DER LINDEN
SENIOR TECHNICAL ADVISOR
Jan van der Linden brings a wealth of experience to Oban and will play a role in advising and assisting in the realization of Oban’s terminal in the Bahamas. Jan van der Linden is a self employed consultant in liquid bulk and has spent over 30 years in the liquid bulk industries with a.o. Royal Vopak and Maersk Group. He spent the preceding five years as GM Business Development with Maersk Oil Trading and APM Terminals.
He is currently interim Operations Manager with SGS Plant & Terminal Operations in Rotterdam. He has served in a number of managerial positions in Royal Vopak during 20 years of his career where he acted as terminal/operations manager, manager engineering & QHSE, project director for expansion projects, operational execellence manager and manager business development.
He graduated from the Nautical College in Rotterdam and served as Officer in the Royal Dutch Navy. After joining Royal Vopak he completed a number of in-house and external training and education programks, among which are Finance for Non-Financials, Management Development Level 2 with the Rotterdam Business School, and Dysfunctional & Irrational Processes in Organizations with Stichting Bedrijfskunde. Furthermore he is a member of the Dutch branch of Mensa.
